Under the inspiring direction of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, a debate/discussion session was scheduled on the 20th of December 2023 at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, in the Department of Computer Science, to gather suggestions from the youth for VIKSIT BHARAT @ 2047. Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, the department head, spoke about the significance of acting now to ensure VIKSIT BHARAT in 2047, Dr. Jainath Yadav talked about how nations have progressed throughout time by taking significant measures, Dr. Nemi Chandra Rathore expanded on the concept by using Japan as an example, According to Dr. Piyush Kumar Singh, students should first have the desire to see their nation developed before the dream materializes, and Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar Singh applauded the government’s aim. Total of sixty students from MSc. Computer science and MSc. Artificial Intelligence in all, split up into four groups, discussed and debated two distinct themes: science, technology, and innovation, and India in the global context.
Participants in the event shared the following ideas on both the themes for creating VIKSIT BHARAT @ 2047:
Ideas for theme: Science, Technology, and Innovation
- Participants underline the importance of employing AI and robotics in agriculture to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047. They proposed employing various sensors to determine soil type, moisture, and temperature, as well as detect plant diseases.
- Some students proposed employing techniques such as vertical farming to optimize agricultural land, which is shrinking by the day.
- Students proposed drop irrigation and hydroponic strategies to supply only enough water to the plants while reducing water waste.
- Students suggested agriculture based on the location. This refers to cultivating crops in the most suitable location.
- A student suggested an idea of a query-based chatbot for farmers where they can ask any question regarding farming to the chatbot. Farmers can write or speak their query in any language and will get the answer in the same language.
- Participants also proposed using AI and robotics in healthcare. They advocated for the use of these technologies in surgery and disease detection.
- A participant proposed a chatbot for persons suffering from mental health issues; the person can converse with the chatbot, and it will thus be a lifesaver.
- Participants proposed that all database servers be located in India, putting our data in our own hands.
- Participants submitted various water-saving ideas for rainwater harvesting across the country. They proposed either holding the water in large tanks or releasing it into the ground, which would raise the groundwater level.
Ideas for theme: India in the World
- The inclusion of Financial Education in the Academic curriculum was proposed by the participants for financial awareness leading to the financial stability of the citizens.
- Participants emphasized on shifting the workforce and job creation paradigm from traditional Employee and Employer to Business and Investor culture.
- Participants emphasized the visionary “Vocal for Local” scheme promotion through the use of Digital infrastructure. Hence increasing the global demand for Indigenous products.
- The use of Augmented and Virtual Reality in the development of the Tourism sector was highlighted by the students.
- Sustainable energy production and consumption through the use of machine learning and Data analytics was proposed by the participants.
