Fulfilling their responsibility towards the society under the ‘Campus for Community’ campaign, the students of the Department of Sociological Studies of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) distributed warm clothes among the needy people outside the university campus on January 16, 2024. Under the ‘Campus for Community’ campaign of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, the Department of Sociological Studies had organized a voluntary clothing donation camp in the university campus for the last one month. The students, teachers and staff of the university gave their valuable support in making the objectives of the camp successful by donating clothes.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh flagged off the bus carrying warm clothes in front of the administrative building. On this occasion, Head of the Department of Sociological Studies, Prof. M. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Prof. Anil Kumar Singh Jha, Dr. Samapika Mahopatra, Dr. Jitendra Ram, Dr. Aditya Mohanty, Dr. Parijat Pradhan and students of the department were present. In his brief address, the Vice Chancellor praised this commendable social work done by the students under the leadership of the professors. He inspired to continue doing more such socially useful works in future and called upon the capable people of the society to come forward to help the needy people.
Program coordinator Dr. Priya Ranjan said that this program is being organized by the department for the last five years. The objective of the campaign is to fulfill the basic needs of the people of the society. He said that the famous social worker of Gaya city, Shri Shiv Kailash Dalmia had a commendable contribution in this campaign.
