Three students from the Department of Environmental Science at the Central University of South Bihar were selected for attending the four-day India International Science Festival (IISF 2023). The festival was held from January 17 to 20, 2024, at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster, Faridabad, Haryana. IISF is India’s largest science festival. Avinash Dass, Nighat Parveen, both research scholars were selected to present their research work through a poster presentation at the Young Scientist Conference event. In addition, Banaja Prakashini Samantaray was invited as a delegate to attend Vigyanika, the Science Literature Festival at IISF. She also got shortlisted to participate in a workshop on popular science writing.
The festival promotes innovation and development in the field of science and technology. The theme of IISF 2023 is “Public Outreach of Science and Technology in the Amrit Kaal.” The festival features a variety of activities, including exhibitions, competitions, workshops, scientific meets, lectures, etc. The four-day international festival was attended by leading scientists from India and abroad, Nobel laureates, academicians, innovators, and various administration representatives.
The Young Scientist Conference is an important part of the India International Science Festival. An international jury reviews 2554 abstracts of research papers, and only 402 research papers are invited to present at the conference. The Dean of the School of Earth, Biological and Environmental Sciences and HOD of the Department, Professor Pradhan Parth Sarthi, congratulated and encouraged all three students. He said it is a matter of pride for the university that our students got selected for this prestigious festival of Science. He wished the students all the best in their research work.
