With hearts full of enthusiasm and dreams of a bright future in their eyes, a large number of new students enrolled in Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) for the academic session 2023-24 visited the campus on Monday (September 04, 2023). On the first day of the new session, an orientation program was organized to introduce the new students to the various dimensions and resources of the university. The orientation program was organized under the guidance of the heads of the departments operating in Aryabhatta Bhawan (School of Science Building), Chanakya Bhawan (School of Social Science Building), Malviya Bhawan (School of Education) of the university.
Most of the students enrolled in this session were present and as per the schedule, the orientation started with the attendance and formal introduction of the students in their respective department (department taking admission). After this, the new students became familiar with the various resources provided in the university like library, computer lab etc. Under the guidance of Librarian Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Professional Assistant Mr. Arshad Ali told the new students about the facilities of the library. System Analyst Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh gave information related to the computer lab of the university to the new students. Lt. Dr. Pragya Gupta (Assistant Professor, Teacher Educator Department) provided detailed information about the NCC program to the students and encouraged them to participate in the NCC programme. During the orientation programme, the new students also asked questions which the library and Appropriate answer was given by the officials of the computer lab.
The Student Assistance and Progress Committee of the Department of Teacher Education organized ‘Diksharambh-Student Induction Program’ for the newly admitted students of BA B.Ed., BSc. B.Ed. and M.Ed. At the beginning of the program Prof. Ravi Kant, Dean, Chair of Education welcomed the students and after this Dr. Tarun Kumar Tyagi (Assistant Professor) M.Ed. students and Dr. Swati Gupta (Assistant Professor) has completed B.A. B.Ed., B.S. C.B.Ed. Provided detailed information to newly admitted students about the structure of the programme, courses offered, attendance rules and examination pattern. Along with this, information was also given about various committees i.e. Mentoring Cell, Alumni and Placement Cell, Cultural Committee and Student Grievance Cell, Student Support System. In this series, Chairman of Institution Innovative Council (IIC) of CUSB, Prof. Venkatesh Singh informed the students about the educational activities of IIC. In the end Dr. Swati Gupta encouraged the students to study honestly and achieve success in future. On this occasion, faculty members of the department, Dr. Mitanjali Sahu, Dr. Rinki, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Mr. Kishore Kumar, Dr. Nripendraveer Singh, Dr. Chandan Srivastava and Dr. Samaresh Bharti etc. were present.
The orientation program of the students of BA LLB course enrolled in the batch of 2023-2028 was held in the Moot Court Hall of Chanakya Bhawan. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Surendra Kumar, Associate Professor, School of Law and Governance (SLG), CUSB and he welcomed all the students. In the presidential address, Head of the Department and Dean Prof. Dr. Sanjay Prakash Srivastava, while mentioning the opportunities available in SLG, talked about the all-round development of the students. Then various committee coordinators explained the role of their committees, including Dr. Kumari Neetu from Gender Sensitization Committee, Dr. Kumari Neetu from Moot Court Committee. Dr. Pallavi Singh, Dr. Anuja Mishra from Debating Society, Dr. Surendra Kumar from Legal Aid Clinic, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Das from Examination Committee and Prof. from Disciplinary Committee. Ashok Kumar was involved. It is noteworthy that along with the orientation program on Monday, the teaching and learning of all the subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the new academic session started.
