On Friday (January 12, 2024), on the occasion of National Youth Day, the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) family remembered Swami Vivekananda. On the occasion of the 161st birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a special tribute program was organized at the main gate by the office of DSW and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the university under the leadership of VC Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. In this program, along with Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh, Program Officer of NSS Unit, Dr. Priya Ranjan (Assistant Professor) and Mrs. Renu (Assistant Professor), head of various departments, professors, officers, employees and students participated.
The program started by lighting the lamp and after that the picture of Swami Vivekananda was garlanded and florarl tribute was paid by the CUSB family. On this special occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh said that the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda are inspiring for all of us. His life is exemplary for the youth, from which youth can take inspiration and become characterful and self-reliant. Vivekananda ji worked to glorify Indian culture on the world stage and gave the message of equality of all religions to the entire world. Today, on the birthday of Vivekananda ji, let us all take a pledge that we will play our role in nation building by following the path shown by him. On this occasion, students and members of the university family took inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda and took a pledge to play their role in nation building.
After this, a health camp was organized in the Vivekananda Lecture Complex of the University and live streaming of the Prime Minister’s address was also done. NSS Coordinator Dr. Budhendra Kumar Singh (Associate Professor) said that in the university, Youth Festival Week is being celebrated from 12th to 19th January to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He said that many programs dedicated to Swami Vivekananda will be organized under the Youth Festival Week and it is hoped that through these programs his ideas will be communicated to the youth.
