National Conclave on Empowering Women Towards Leadership organized by Dept. of Law

The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organized a National Conclave on the topic “Empowering Women Towards Leadership through Visualizing the Future at New Heights of Equity” through a webinar under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The conclave was organised under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh under the supervision of Prof. Ashok Kumar from Dept. of Law & Governance. Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kapoor Mehra, Founder Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana joined the session as the keynote speaker in the programme.

At the beginning of the conclave, Prof. Ashok Kumar in his welcome address described the relevance of the programme. He said empowering women towards leadership through visualizing the future at new heights of equity: STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics). Prof.  Kumar also focused on NEP-2020, Beti Bachao, Beti Padawo Abhiyan and UNSDG Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. It’s time for the world to recognize the benefits of women in leadership, and commit to placing even more women in positions of power.

After this, Dr. Namita Pandey, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad, Gujarat highlighted the nuances of the agenda in her address. Further, Dr. Anamika Yadav of Center for Science and Environment, New Delhi addressed the conference. After this, the guest of honour Prof. Tulika Saxena, Dean, Faculty of Management, MJP Rohilkhand University also highlighted the interrelated aspects of economics, STEM and development of society while talking about smart management and inclusiveness.

Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Kapoor Mehra, Founder Vice Chancellor Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Law University, Haryana, stating about women leadership in the Indian tradition, said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and STEM – (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) fields are capable of providing leadership to women.

 

Dr. Surendra Kumar (Associate Professor) and Dr. Anant Prakash Narayan of the Department of Law gave valuable contributions as coordinators of the conclave. Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh congratulated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee for the successful organization of the conference and appreciated the agenda and encouraged the participants to adopt the learnings from the conference. Prof. Venktesh Singh, Prof. Dr. Durg Vijay Singh, Prof. Kiran Kumari, Dr Karmanand Arya, Ms. Sneha and Dr. Pamela, from Latin America were also present at the conclave.
