CUSB Ranked No. 1 University in Bihar in Education World India 2020 Ranking

Success or name and fame don’t owe to big cities or popular destinations, it may be achieved even at smaller places. Making the concept a reality, the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) the first Central University of the state of Bihar secured 1st Rank (position) among the government funded Universities in Education World India Ranking. Nalanda University (Rajgir) is another University from Bihar featuring in Bihar, and only these two Universities succeeded to make into the list.

The ranking is done by Education World India magazine and published in its May edition. In the list of India’s 150 Top government universities, Indian Institute of Science (IIS) Bangalore has been declared the Best (No. 1) University of the country, while CUSB is given 56th Rank. Ironically, CUSB is also the Best University (No. 1) among the 16 new Central Universities established under the Act of 2009. The ranking had a total score of 1300 featuring the criteria namely, Competence of faculty, Faculty welfare & development, Research and innovation, Curriculum & pedagogy, Industry interface, Placement, Infrastructure and facilities, Internationalism, Leadership / governance quality and Range / diversity of programmes offered.

CUSB Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.C.S. Rathore and Registrar Col. R. K. Singh have congratulated the entire University fraternity for the national level pride. Prof. Rathore, VC CUSB said that I am pleased with the ranking and it is a matter of joy and happiness for all. The hard-work and focussed approach of the faculty members, students and staff made it a possibility, and I am congratulating all the stake-holders for their brilliant performance and supporting the University to achieve the exceptional feat. Although we are at a nascent stage and only a 10 years old institution, but the way we are achieving success on various platforms (stages) of the country, I am sure we will be No. 1 University of this region, added the Vice-Chancellor.

Established in the year 2009 as the first Central University of the state of Bihar is accredited with “A” grade by NAAC and featuring among the top 100 Universities of India as per NIRF Ranking 2016. It has carved a niche for itself in the region as well as the country with its excellent teaching pedagogy practices, state-of-the-art laboratories, well-established library, in addition to many achievements in the short period of 10 years. Presently the University is functioning from a 300 acres sprawling campus at Panchanpur, Gaya with over 150 faculty members, many of them with remarkable international exposure, and also owning a number of funded research projects in their kitties. On the other hand, a fair number of students are getting campus placement from the University in reputed organisations like Azim Premji Foundation, Care India, Piramal Foundation among many others in good packages for past a couple of years. The students also succeed in cracking UGC NET – JRF, SRF, GATE, and many other fellowships every year for higher studies.
