Campus Dialogue on the pertinent topic of “Rising Nari Shakti: Women Empowerment in India

The Central University of South Bihar organized a Campus Dialogue on the pertinent topic of “Rising Nari Shakti: Women Empowerment in India.” On the occasion of the Amrit Kaal, this Vimarsh was conducted within the context of Vikasit Bharat @ 2047 in the auspicious presence of the honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. The chief guest for this insightful dialogue was Shri S.D. Sanjay, former Additional Solicitor General and Sr. Advocate at the High Court of Judicature, Patna. Shri S.D. Sanjay, notably touched upon the Nari Sakti Vandan Adhiniyam, a landmark legislation that allocates 33 percent of seats in directly elected Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies for women, reinforcing the commitment to gender equality, role in decision making, and representation in Indian politics. Shri Sanjay also elucidated how these schemes have been remarkably effective in uplifting women, especially in the past decade, thereby enhancing their participation in the political arena and society at large.

CUSB Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, emphasized the importance of education not merely as a means to obtain a degree but as a tool for societal welfare. He underscored that genuine progress could not be achieved without acknowledging and promoting the vital role of women in society and the nation. Prof. Singh eloquently underscored the significance of such programs in creating awareness during the Amritkaal.

Prof. P.K. Mishra, Dean of Student’s Welfare welcomed the guest and briefly spoke about Vikashit Bharat. Dr. Anju Helen Bara, the Program Coordinator, introduced the Amrit Bharat Vimarsh and outlined the objectives of the Campus Dialogue on a development nation. The program was thoughtfully divided into three distinct segments: a presentation, an interactive session, and enlightening talks by the chief guest, Shri S.D. Sanjay, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh.

The interactive session, skillfully conducted by Dr. Chetna Jaiswal, allowed students from various departments to pose their questions to Shri S.D. Sanjay. Pallavi Sarkar (Sociological Studies), Misty Burman (BA. Bed), Shambhavi (Department of Biotechnology), Jigyasa (Law and Governance), and Pranjul Verma (Psychological Sciences) asked their questions related to different government schemes. Mr. Giridhar Kumar, 3rd semester MA student from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, gave a presentation on Rising Nari Shakti. Heprovided a comprehensive overview of women’s empowerment. He discussed various government schemes aimed at enhancing women’s status in social, economic, scientific, and technological fields as envisioned by the GOI through Nari Shakti.

Dr. Poonam Kumari delivered a vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Shri S.D. Sanjay, for his enlightening speech, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh for his invaluable guidance, Prof. P.K. Mishra for his unwavering support, and Dr. Anju Helen Bara for her commendable organization of the event. The active participation of all attendees was acknowledged as essential in making the program a resounding success.

The Campus Dialogue on “Rising Nari Shakti: Women Empowerment in India” concluded with the rendition of the national anthem, leaving participants with a renewed sense of purpose and a greater understanding of the vital role women play in shaping India’s future. The event served as a reminder that the empowerment of women is not just a goal but a necessity for a truly progressive India @ 2047.
