Dr. Rachana Vishwakarma, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Business Studies and her research scholar Mr. Saket Mishra had presented a research paper and won the Best Research Paper Award with a Cash Prize of Rs 10,000 in the International Conference on Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development. This conference was organised by Global Research Foundation for Corporate Governance (GRFCG) in the Constitution Club of India at New Delhi during 16th-17th September, 2023. The theme was “Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development: Reflecting New Perspective in Emerging Economies and Around the Globe”. The objective of this conference was to discuss the plausible ways to achieve corporate excellence and sustainable development Goals.
They had presented their empirical research paper titled Sustainable Reporting Practices and its Impact on the Performance of Maharatna Companies in the International conference which emphasized mainly on the significance of sustainability reporting practices, initiatives & policies formulated by Indian Government to promote sustainable development and its impact on the performance of Maharatna Companies. Their research paper shows that sustainability initiatives for companies initially may appear a costly business but they support a big cause on society, environment and business at large which is a win-win situation in long run. The session was chaired by Prof. Gerhard Schnyder, Loughborough University, London, U.K. and Prof Gregory Jackson, Professor, School of Business and Economics, FU Berlin Germany. In the valedictory session, First Best Paper was conferred to Dr. Rachana Vishwakarma and Mr. Saket Mishra along with Cash Prize of Rs 10, 000. There were more than 100 research paper were submitted by 135 collaborating authors located from India and abroad.
