The Pro Bono Club run at the School of Law and Governance, Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organized an awareness-cum-placement drive on Friday (February 23, 2024). The Law Foundation Organization (LFO) NGO of Patna participated under the leadership of Dr. Deo Narayan Singh, Nodal Officer of Pro Bono Club.
NGO members Praveen Kumar, Advocate Santosh Kumar, Advocate Shalini, and Advocate Khushboo told the students about their organization. Further, Law Foundation Organization working in the field of Indian law introduced the students to various aspects of placement. During the drive, they interviewed students and selected some students to work in the NGO, which includes Rupesh Kumar, Nishant Kumar and Ritu Rani from the Department of Sociology.
The purpose of coming of the NGO was also to give students an opportunity to do internship in their NGO and the students doing internship will be given salary. Through internships, law students will get the opportunity to gain professional experience, which will help them enhance their personality and prepare them for further employment opportunities. Additionally, this institutional relationship will also provide a unique educational experience for the students. LFO NGO works in jails of almost all the districts of Bihar for prisoners under court trial. The institute has so far helped more than 300 prisoners get bail by providing them legal aid.
