Alumni Meet at Biotechnology Department of CUSB

The old boys of Department of Biotechnology of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) gathered at their alma mater during the Alumni Meet. The Alumni Meet was organised under the supervision of Prof. Durg Vijai Singh, Head of the department of Biotechnology. Prof. Durg Vijai Singh, Prof. Rizwanul Haque, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Jawaid Ahsan, Dr. Nitish Kumar, Dr. Krishna Prakash along with alumni, the research scholars and the current batch of MSc students from Department of Biotechnology were present in the event.

The event began with a welcome address and introductory speech by Prof. Durg Vijai Singh. In his talk, he briefly discussed the history of this department – from how it all started to its journey till the present day. He requested the alumni to stay connected with the Department and furnish various information regarding their academic progress whenever required. He urged the alumni to help the Department in arranging campus placement drives with their institutions and industries.

Prof. Rizwanul Haque, former HoD, Biotechnology thanked and greeted the old boys for attending the Alumni Meet. He congratulated the alumni for their academic achievements and urged them to help and guide their juniors in getting good labs for dissertation and placement. Dr. Jawaid Ahsan enlightened the audience about the Department Alumni Cell and its activities. He urged the alumni to become life time members of University Alumni Association, to better stay connected with the Department and University. He requested to help and guide the other students in every possible way for achieving greater success in academic life. He congratulated the alumni for their participation directly or indirectly that helped the University getting NAAC A++ accreditation. He urged the alumni to continue their support to the Department and University and participate in future Alumni meets as well.

The faculty members felicitated the alumni during the meet. Among the alumni, Farzana, Snehlata, Ambika, Divya, Shweta and others shared their experiences and motivated students to go for higher studies and research. They also gave tips for cracking national level fellowship examinations. They actively participated in interactive sessions with their junior students. The meet ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the HoD Prof. D. V. Singh.
