Admission Process
The applications of Foreign Nationals (FNs) seeking admission in various programs of the study are processed through OFFICE of INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS (OIA). The Foreign Nationals are admitted to a maximum of 10 % of the total seats in each course on supernumerary basis. The Admissions of Foreign National to various programs in the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) are entertained through following categories:-
- 1. Self-financing students
- 2. Sponsored candidates (Foreign Nationals seeking admission through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) or any other funding agency recognized by the Government of India. Such application should reach us through ICCR only.
Foreign Nationals seeking admission in any of the categories under (1) and (2) above are exempted from appearing in entrance test. However, they will have to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the various programmes of study as prescribed by the University.
Eligibility Condition
- a. The applicant should have completed 17 years of age; however, there is no maximum age limit for foreign nationals.
- b. The Degrees/Certificates of the candidates have been recognized and approved by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)/Commonwealth Universities/International Association of Universities (IAU) as equivalent to the corresponding Indian Degrees/Certificates. In case a student’s parent University/Institution does not have a program which is recognized by AIU, equivalent program may be considered. In this respect the Admission Committee’s decision shall be deemed as final.
- c. All Foreign Nationals are required to have adequate knowledge of English and/or Hindi as per the requirements of the course/program.
Provisional Admission
- a. After screening of the application by respective Departmental admission committee, only successful candidates who fulfill the eligibility condition will be issued a provisional admission letter by the OIA office, CUSB.
- b. Copies of the provisional admission letter are sent to the (i) ICCR, Regional office Patna, 67-68/40. Officers flats, Opposite Suchna Bhavan, Patna-800001, Bihar, India in New Delhi, (ii) ICCR Head office, New Delhi and (iii) applicant’s email address. Hence, applicants are advised to write their email addresses and other details correctly on the application forms.
- c. Provisional admissions are subject to verification of all original documents and mere issue of provisional admission letter does not guarantee a seat in any specific course/program of the Central University of South Bihar.
- d. In case the university found that the applicant has/had produced fake/forged certificate(s)/document(s), indulged in any act of misconduct/indiscipline/moral turpitude and has/had concealed any other relevant information at the time of seeking provisional admission at any stage of the course of study, their admission is liable to be cancelled and prosecuted.
Document Requirements
- 1. At the time of application
- a. Duly filled in application form which can be downloaded from the University website along with the processing fee.
- b. The applications of scholarship-holding Foreign Nationals (under various schemes) should be routed through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations/ Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Education), Govt. of India, New Delhi.
- c. A copy of valid foreign passport
- d. Two passport size photograph. The photo of the applicant should not be older than six months from the date of application
- e. Photocopies of Certificate for Proof of Age and Qualifications.
- f. The antecedents of the candidate should have been verified by the forwarding Agencies/Ministry and should be certified as found in order. Transcripts from High School onwards with certified English translation, if the documents are in any other language. Candidates are suggested to enclose such documents, which in their opinion could convince the Admission Committee regarding their suitability for admission to the course(s) applied.
- g. Statement of Purpose (in case of PhD admission)
- 2. At the time of admission
A student selected for admission is required to report to the Office of International Affairs (OIA), CUSB with the following documents, in original, along with one photocopy of each document. Certified English translation of such copies should also be submitted, if these are in a different language.
- a. Valid Passport and VISA
- b. All the certificates and transcripts of different examinations, (including grade conversion formula from the institution (if marks not mentioned/awarded in percentage).
- c. Medical fitness certificate from a recognized hospital. Applicants may be subjected to Medical Test (HIV). In case found HIV positive, admission will not be granted.
- d. Health Insurance Policy.
- e. Payment of all the fees/charges as per University norms, subject to revision if any. The University reserves the right to alter the fee structure whenever necessary.
- f. All Foreign Nationals applying for admission under self-financing category are required to provide detail of the Bank account etc. and a certificate from their respective banks/ (latest bank statements) to the effect that they have sufficient funds available in their bank account to sustain their studies in India for the duration of the programme.
Hostel Accommodation
The allotment of hostel accommodation is subjected to availability. If requested, hostel accommodation may be provided on sharing basis at one of the available hostels of the University, as per CUSB norms.
