A record number of 44 students of CUSB get placed for Gandhi Fellowship

A record number of 44 students from different departments of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) got placed for the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship of Piramal Foundation. Public Relation Officer (PRO) Md. Mudassir Alam also co-ordinator of the Placement Cell said that the drive was conducted under the supervision of Placement Cell chairperson Prof. Atish Prashar a few weeks ago. CUSB Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh expressed happiness over the selection of a large number of students for the fellowship. Registrar Col. Rajiv Kumar Singh and Prof. Atish Prashar along with the members of Placement Cell of the university congratulated the successful students and wished them good luck.

Providing details, the PRO said that from the department of Mass Communication and Media a record number of 14 students have qualified for the fellowship namely, Priya Kumari, Shubham Sanu, Shashi Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Shambhavi Kumari, Rakhi Kumari, Pranidhi Raj, Chandan Kumar, Nahid Imam, Rishav Raj, Anjali Kumari, Nitish Kumar, Raushan Kumar and Deepankar Bhattacharya. From the School of Sciences, Yaghfir Muntaha, Gaurav Kumar, Rukhsar Perween, Supriya Shekhar, Priya Agrawal, Swati Singh, Shashank Raj, Vishal Kumar, Masud Jakaria Khan, Supriya Kumari, Saurabh Gupta, Srishti Shankar and Tanushree have grabbed the fellowship. From the Social Work and Development Studies the successful students are Ritesh Kumar, Praveen Sharma, Sujeet Kumar Lal, Puja Kumari, Vivek Kumar, Shobhit Sinha, Rishabh Kumar and Akash Kumar. Siddhantika Vatsa and Priyanshu Kumar Tripathy from the Department of Law and Governance, while Manish Kumar from Dept. of Teacher Education have succeeded in getting the fellowship. From the School of Social Sciences and Policy Nishant Kumar, Rajeev Ranjan, Babli Kumar, Sandeep Kumar Kushwaha, Md Subhan Alam and Mridula Kumari have also qualified for the fellowship.

Representatives of the prestigious Piramal Foundation under the guidance of Mr. Amrit Anand (Program Leader) organized the Placement drive for Gandhi Fellowship for the placement of final year Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students for the session 2023-25. A total of 175 students of CUSB’s registered themselves for the Gandhi Fellowship placement drive. Students receiving Gandhi Fellowship are given a monthly grant of Rs 25000 – 28000 for two years, which includes facilities like phone allowance, accommodation, traveling allowance, medical insurance etc. Under this fellowship, students have to go to the schools falling under their work area and come face to face with the children and their parents and teachers and they can be informed about the important facts related to education and health. At the same time, the students who receive this fellowship take appropriate steps after thinking seriously about other aspects to bring about social change. They meet people and provide them all possible help, which includes helping them start their own small-scale business etc.
