- Objectives of the Programme: The two year (four semesters) Post Graduate Programme is designed to provide necessary knowledge and skills to postgraduate students. The major thrusts of the programme include:
- To study issues related to exploitation of natural resources, the impacts of human activities thereon and the implications of environmental degradation on human development.
- Natural Processes in the Environment, which focus on the natural processes such as the hydrological, atmospheric, Biogeochemical, micro-biological and ecological processes.
- The Human Dimension of Environmental Change: to understand the determinants of the growth of populations and economies, and how this growth results in demand for natural resources, leading to scarcity, pollution and risks for human health.
- Analytical Tools in Environmental Science: basic tools for analysing environmental issues, such as data collection and analysis and modelling of air, water, soil and biological systems.
- Programme outcome:
The students are trained in a way so that they can learn to analyse and asses environmental systems and problems; be able to propose sustainable solutions and contribute to the development of policies and strategies for environmental planning. - Eligibility :
B.Sc. in any science subjects such as Zoology/Botany/Physics/Chemistry/Life Sciences/Geology/ Agricultural Science / Environmental Science/Ecology/ Biological Sciences/ Natural Resource Management / Water Resources Management or Integrated B.Sc. B.Ed with a minimum of 55% marks for General /OBC candidates and 50% marks for SC/St candidates from any recognised University. - Intake:45 annually
- Objectives of the Program::
The Ph.D. programme includes one semester course work and intensive field and laboratory work. It is designed to in a way that the research scholar can independently and in team explore the environmental processes, problems and solutions under the expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University. - Program Outcomes:
The research scholars shall develop and ability of independently carry out diverse research in the field of environmental science. After completing the programme they can be able to contribute in the domain of environmental science in capacity of professionals, teacher and scientist. - Eligibility:
Master’s Degree from any recognised University in any branch of Biological Science (Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biosciences/ Biotechnology/ Environmental Science /Biomedical/ Bioinformatics/ Agricultural Science/ Plant Science) with 55% in aggregate or its equivalent Grade B in UGC 7 point scale. A Relaxation of Grade for SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer) /Differently abled candidates. - Intake:
as per the advertisement of admission
